“Although Henry states that Nia & the Numbers Game “focuses on the emotional and social aspects of high school and college as they pertain to African-American and Hispanic girls,” the subject matter covered by the book is relatable to all adolescent girls, regardless of their backgrounds. Nia’s parents, although split up, love and support their kids and espouse the importance of getting good grades, making good choices, being good and staying out of trouble, which is an important message for any adolescent.”

“Nia & The Numbers Game is a must read for all young adults coming of age. The book intimately detailed the day-to-day life of young Nia in which most of us have experienced in our lives. This book will have you question your own past decisions as a teen, and how you would handle it now, talking to our new generation.”

"Dr. Henry provides a witty, funny, intelligent story that makes you fall in love with the characters. Nia, her family and her friends represent what most African Americans know to be true about our culture. Our young girls are smart, creative, strong-minded, beautiful, courageous and forward thinking. Nia & the Numbers Game completely dispels societal lies, myths and misrepresentations that have plagued African Americans for far too long. It completely disregards the negative stereotypes about the African American household, family and overall Black experience."
